  Be Saved & Be Raised! 

 Acts 13: 29 -31

Acts 

When they had fulfilled all the prophecies concerning his death, they took him down from the cross and placed him in a tomb.  But God raised him from the dead!  And he appeared over a period of many days to those who had gone with him from Galilee to Jerusalem - these are his witnesses to the people of Israel.

  Thoughts....

Acts 13:29a

The people in Jerusalem and their leaders fulfilled prophecy concerning the death of Jesus.

Recall what Jesus told the gathering of the Twelve:

Luke 8 31-35a

As you know, we are going to Jerusalem.  And when we get there, all the predictions of the ancient prophets concerning the Son of Man will come true (See Psalm 22).  He will be handed over to the Romans to be mocked, treated shamefully, and spit upon.  They will whip him and kill him. 

Acts 13:29b

They took him down from the cross and placed him in a tomb.  But God raised him from the dead!

Acts 13:31

And he appeared over a period of many days to those who had gone with him from Galilee to Jerusalem - these are his witnesses to the people of Israel.

Psalm 22:27-28

All the ends of the earth will remember and turn to the Lord, and all the families of the nations will bow down before him, for dominion belongs to the Lord and he rules over the nations.

Psalm 22:31

They will proclaim his righteousness to a people yet unborn - for he has done it.

1 John 5:4-5

For every child of God defeats this evil world by trusting Christ to give the victory.  And the ones who win this battle against the world are the ones who believe that Jesus IS the Son of God.

1 John 5:11

And this is what God has testified:  He has give US eternal life, and this life is in his Son.  So whoever has God's Son has life; whoever does not have his Son does not have life.

Acts 4:11-12

For Jesus is the one referred to in the Scriptures, where it says, 'The stone that you builders rejected, has now become the cornerstone.' (Psalm 118:22)  There is salvation in no one else!  There is no other name in all of heaven for people to call on to save them.

  Let Us Pray

My God reigns and Jesus saves....he saved me....a lowly servant girl who doesn't serve very well, but he still saved me.  Now, will I get to heaven?  According to the Word of God, if I call on him to save me, AND obey him, I will get to heaven.  I have turned to the Lord.  I bow down before him.  I proclaim his righteousness to a people yet unborn.  I defeat this evil world by trusting Christ to give the victory.  I am winning the battle against the world because I believe that Jesus IS the Son of God.  I have God's Son, so I have life.  I have called on Jesus for salvation!  I am saved!  AMEN!  God, Jesus, Holy Spirit, I praise you, I love you, I thank you!  Amen!

Let us hear from Paul as he prays:

  Our Continual Cause

It is time to reach into the community and the world around you to see wherein lies the greatest need.  As you choose to focus on these areas, do so with a servant's heart.  Whether the need is for children, adults, animals, the earth, or any cause in between that will help those in need, ask God how you can best serve his needs, what path you must take, and how long you should persevere.  Sometimes we are to be in the lives of others merely as stepping stones.  Sometimes we are to touch those lives forever.  Whatever journey you are called to take, whatever team you will be a member, know this:  God is with you always...even til the end of time.  He loves you, is grateful for you, and will help you along life's way, especially if you are helping others along theirs, persevering with a servant's heart.
